A Rare Monofloral Organic Honey from the Paliouri Herb
Our monofloral organic Paliourus honey — recognized by the yellow honeycomb pattern on its jar — is one of the rarest types of honey in Greece. Its rarity comes from the short blooming window of the Paliouri herb and the specific microclimates where it grows.
Paliouri is a resilient, wild shrub that can reach up to 3 meters in height. Its flowering period lasts only about two weeks and is easily interrupted by rain or strong winds, making harvests unpredictable and limited.
The location of the hives plays a crucial role in the quality and character of this honey. Produced in the mountainous region of Siatista, our Paliouri honey stands out for its exceptionally high pollen concentration — often exceeding 80%, depending on the year.
Introducing this new variety to our honey collection has strengthened our commitment to quality and to our long-standing family tradition of more than 30 years in beekeeping. Today, Paliouri honey is one of the five premium varieties we proudly produce.
This rare monofloral honey is highly aromatic, naturally rich in nutrients, and has a dense, luxurious texture. It is known for its toning, antiseptic, and antibacterial properties.
